Saskatoon Groundwater Risk is a free informational website. We collect as little personal data as possible.
What we collect
- Usage analytics — Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-4MTX0XBRHE) collects anonymous page views and interaction events (e.g. neighbourhood report views, FAQ opens). No account is required to use the Site. Analytics run in production only, not during local development.
- Contact form — If you use our contact page, we receive the name, email, topic, optional neighbourhood, and message you submit. Messages are delivered by email through a third-party form service (FormSubmit).
- Server logs — Standard web logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) may be retained briefly by our host for security and operations.
We do not operate user accounts or payment processing on the Site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Cookies
The Site uses Google Analytics cookies in production to measure traffic and how visitors use the tool. Hosting providers may also use essential cookies subject to their own policies. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Third parties
The Site links to external public data sources (City of Saskatoon, Water Security Agency, AAFC, news reporting). Those sites have their own privacy practices. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the City of Saskatoon in any way. The Site is hosted on Vercel; see Vercel's Privacy Policy.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law, you may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you. Because we collect minimal data, most requests will relate to server logs held by our hosting provider.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
